When and How to Apply

Application Process

  • Before you apply you need to choose which subjects you would like to study. On the application form you must place the subjects you wish to study in order of preference, up to a maximum of four subjects. Students will study three or four subjects in Year 12.
  • Applications open on the 24th October 2023.
  • Both Internal and External students have to fill in the Online Application form.

Idsall Students

  • Click on Sixth Form and Courses Available to see what Idsall Sixth Form has to offer.
  • Applications will be accepted after the deadline of 31st January 2024 but numbers may mean students are placed on a waiting list.
  • Interviews will be held during February 2024.
  • Letters of acceptance or rejection will be sent to students individually, via email.
  • Students will receive further information giving details of enrolment.

External Students

  • Click on Sixth Form and Courses Available to see what Idsall Sixth Form has to offer.
  • Applications will be accepted after the deadline of 31st January 2024 but numbers may mean that students are placed on a waiting list.
  • Interviews will be held during February 2024.
  • Letters of acceptance or rejection will be sent to students individually, via email.
  • Enrolment will be on GCSE results day.

All Students

At all stages of the application procedure, students will be able to discuss their applications and have access to the Head of Sixth Form, Deputy Head of Sixth Form and the Tutor Team. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the team or phone the school on 01952 468400.

Final decisions regarding A Level subjects will be made during enrolment which will be on GCSE results day.

It may be possible to change subjects if numbers and timetabling permit.

 

Final Thoughts

Choosing a post 16 programme of study is a big decision which to a large extent will affect your life in terms of further and higher education and employment.

It is, therefore, important that you seek good guidance and advice so that you can make the right choices.

It is also important that you achieve good grades, so that final push towards your GCSE exams is vital.  It will be hard work but it will be worthwhile.
