Year 6 to 7 Transitions

Transition from primary to secondary school is an incredibly important time. Transition to Idsall is run by a team of experienced teaching and support staff, led by Mrs. Reeve.

The transition process runs throughout the whole academic year, from the school open evening in September, right through to Induction Day and the associated parental information evening that is usually held in July. As a school, we try and do as much as we can to support our year 6 pupils with their transition to secondary school, and this includes visiting them in their primary schools, arranging visits to Idsall, supporting with the arrangements to purchase uniform and holding a parental information evening. In addition to this, the Head of Year 7 also liaises closely with the local primary schools, in order to gain important academic and pastoral information with regards to each pupil – ensuring that we know as much about each pupil as we can before they join us.

We are looking forward to welcoming our new year 7 cohort from September 2024. If you have been allocated a place with us, you will receive a letter from us by the end of March. There will be a uniform evening on Tuesday 7th May – where we look forward to seeing you (further details to follow). If you have any questions in the mean time, please email Mrs. Reeve transition@idsall.shropshire.sch.uk  or phone the school office on 01952 468400
