The Voice-Autumn 2019

Please find a message from Ms King below and the attached full edition of Idsalls' Autumn Newsletter-'The Voice' (for all the activities and events that have taken place this term).

Dear Parents and Carers

What a first term for Idsall and for me; it’s been packed with excitement, getting to know everyone and lots of learning. We have done so much including outstanding performances in Sister Act and Boogie Nights, to Christmas carols this week in Telford Shopping Centre, not to mention the vast amount of sporting achievements; all must see opportunities that make us all very proud to be Idsall.

We have appointed our new head boy and girl with deputies; what stiff competition-we could have had them all. Congratulations to Samuel and Libby, and deputies Jacob, Bethan and Ciara; we are looking forward to working with you all. There are a few projects taking place with many enterprise activities, a revamp of student support areas and hopefully, by the end of the year, students working with our designers to look at the reception area.. it’s all going on here.

Year 11 have completed their first mock exams and preparations are well in place to improve on these in the new year before the next round of exams; well done year 11. Year 7 have settled well and have quickly found their way around.

We do say goodbye to a few staff this Christmas with Mrs Stevenson taking on her own headship, Mrs Farish taking on a senior post in a neighbouring school, Mrs Groves off to travel to world and Mrs Garland to a promotional post nearer home. We wish them all best wishes and every success in their new roles. Joining us we welcome Mrs Houston to English and Mrs Strachan to History, amongst a few other faces you will meet in January. I am sure they too will find Idsall a lovely place to be and work, and will enjoy meeting our hard working and wonderful students.

Finally, thank you for making my first term at Idsall a pleasure and making me so welcome; it is truly a great school. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 7th January 2020.

Merry Christmas

Ms M King
