Outstanding Achievement-Idsall Students Win Young Enterprise Company of the Year for Shropshire

Our Young Enterprise team, “Scrambled”, comprising of 9 students have won the very prestigious award of “Company Of The Year”, and now move forward to represent the region at the West Midlands finals at HSBC headquarters in Birmingham on June 6th. Scrambled is based on recycling, reviving and reusing old board games for other uses rather than them being discarded as rubbish. The team have focused on making coasters, picture frames, key rings and other household and personal artefacts using the board game pieces.

15 schools and 22 teams from across Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire took part in the Young Enterprise national competition, where companies had to compete across 4 different aspects - Trade Fairs, Presentation, Company Report and Dragons Den interview, where they were given a score out of 100 points.

The competition culminated in the awards evening at Telford Centre Hotel on Thursday 2nd May, with Idsall being nominated for 9 awards and winning 4.

These were:

  • Most Enterprising Business
  • Best Presentation
  • Best Live Presentation
  • Company Of The Year

We wish them continued success in the next stage of the competition.
