This page will be updated regularly with notices whilst you are working from home. 

We will try to keep you informed of online events run by universities, as well as opportunities from any organisation that will support you in your current studies, or in your next steps.  You'll also notice that there is a section on wellbeing that will be added to - but remember that we are here for you if you need further support.

Meet the Russell Group Virtual Event - Wednesday 10 February

Conspiracy Theories and Current Events - 9 February at 2:00pm
This session for Post 16 students, will be looking at the psychology of conspiracy theories and how they affect our behaviour. Click here for more information and to book.

 

Policing Virtual Recruitment Event - 11 February at 4:00pm
Are you interested in a future in policing?  
This event will help them find out more about the routes available, talk to experts in police recruitment and policing education, and ask any questions they may have about the recruitment process. Click here for more information and to book.

 

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM MASTERCLASSES

These hour-long sessions will be hosted by experts in their field at the University of Birmingham and will cover a wide range of subject areas. The programme is designed to enrich the learning of students from Year 10 to 13 and started on 18th January.

Designed to provide pupils with insights into what it's like to study at a selective university, the masterclasses cover a wide selection of subjects including:

  • Medicine
  • English Literature
  • Dentistry
  • Academic Writing
  • Politics
  • Art History
  • Maths

If you are interested, please look at their website for the course you would like to attend. Please be aware that the school will need to book these courses, so you will need to contact Miss Smith if you are interested in anything in particular.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH WALES MASTERCLASSES

Motivational Monday Masterclasses – subject-specific events. Taking place each Monday at 6pm, these sessions cover a wide range of subject areas, supporting students to continue their HE research from their own homes. With topics including, ‘An Introduction to Forensic Science’ , ‘Knife Crime and Policing’ and ‘Focus on: Reading a Script’, these free and interactive sessions will give students a real insight into studying a particular subject at University.
