  • Welcome & Latest Update for Year 7 September 2020

    Published 28/04/20

    Dear Parents & Carers,

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to say again how much we are looking forward to welcoming you and your family into the Idsall School community, and I hope that this letter finds you safe and well.

Due to the ongoing situation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, we have unfortunately had to make the decision to cancel the uniform evenings that were detailed in our previous communication to yourselves, and were planned for the 12th and 13th May. Uniform will need to be purchased directly from our suppliers – whose contact details are below. They will arrange delivery of the items directly to yourselves, or for you to collect from their premises once they are open. (You will still need to purchase school ties directly from us, once we have arranged tutor groups and therefore houses, at a later date).

    Baker & Son:

    Telephone: 01952 641897 – between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Telephone: 01746 761701 – leave a message and they will return your call the following day.
Similarly, there will unfortunately not be an opportunity for us to order any stationery or dictionaries for you this year – please purchase these yourselves as needed, from local shops or websites such as, or

With regards to housekeeping, there are some sections of the Pupil Information Booklet that need returning to us as soon as possible. Please can you, by the 16th May, either post the completed booklet back to Idsall – marking it for the attention of the Admissions Department, or alternatively, complete the online form here:

    Year 7 September 2020-Online Form

In addition to the above, should you wish for your child to have music lessons when they attend Idsall, as detailed within the booklet, please can you email Mrs Shaw (Head of Music) directly on

I was really looking forward to visiting our local primary schools to meet the pupils, and tell them all about Idsall, and answer any questions they may have. During this time, I also speak to the teachers to gain valuable information about pupils that will enable me to help them settle in quickly. Please rest assured, I am in communication with the schools via email and telephone, and will ensure that I am able to pass some information on to pupils in some form or other, in the near future.  Please find a short video clip from myself below.

As schools re-open, and we have more information as to when this may be and the restrictions that may be in place, we will be in touch to discuss the possibility of a parental information evening and a school visit for pupils. In the meantime, if you have any important questions or concerns – please send them for the attention of Mrs Reeve to In addition, please note, in Modern Foreign Languages one half year will all study French and the other half, German.  If you have any reason for a particular language preference, please let me know by Friday 16th May.

I look forward to seeing you as soon as I can – stay safe and well.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mrs J Reeve

    Head of Year 7

  • Updated Sports Fixtures Letter and Consent Form

    Published 03/12/18

    Dear Parent/Carer

Parental Consent Form – Sport Fixtures

We have changed our fixtures policy and now require parents/carers to give written permission for their child to participate in sporting fixtures. We will ask for this information annually.

We will continue to inform you of fixtures in the following ways:

    • The Idsall website - - this is updated weekly.
    • Students will receive a team sheet which states where the fixture is being held, what time students will leave school, what time they will return to school and method of travel.
    • Twitter- @Idsallsport - please also use this twitter page to find out sporting results.

We will also be sending emails to you when our new system is up and running.

It is the responsibility of your child to check the team sheet and note the times and dates of fixtures. Please understand that unless otherwise stated the matches/fixtures will begin directly after school at 3pm and away fixtures will return to school at approximately 6pm.

Please understand that if your child is to find their own way to a venue for a school competition, (during the week or at weekends) it is the parents/carers responsibility to ensure that safe arrangements are made to and from the location.

If your child is getting transport from Idsall staff to a sporting fixture at a weekend, then you will be informed of the details.

Your child will not be able to participate in sporting fixtures for Idsall School until this form is completed.

We are asking for all parents/carers to fill in the online form which can be found on the school website: A password will be required to complete the form. Please contact school to request the password.

If the above link doesn’t work, go to then click on the following links – Home/Parents & Carers/ Enquiries and Forms/ Parental Consent Form for Sports Fixtures. A paper copy of the form can also be collected from school.

Thank you for your support in this matter and if you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact school.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mr S Bell

    Second in the PE Department
