Applying to Idsall

Idsall School has an admissions number of 216 for the Year 7 Intake in September 2021.

The allocation of places in the year commencing September 2020 was made on the 1st March 2020 at which date the number of preferences received and places allocated was as follows:

Parents of Year 6 children living in Shropshire will be required (in the autumn term prior to the school year of transfer from primary to secondary school), to complete a Local Education Authority application form stating preferences for up to three schools. The closing date for applications is the 31st October and allocation letters will be sent to parents at the beginning of March. If there are more applications for places than are available within the admission limit, priority will be given as follows:

  1. Looked after children and children with special educational needs
  2. Children living within the defined catchment area
  3. Children living outside the defined catchment area

Parents living outside the Shropshire Education Authority may apply for places at Idsall School, but should do so through their own Local Education Authority by indicating a preference for Idsall School on the local admissions form. The application will be passed on to Shropshire LEA. If the Shropshire LEA Admissions Team is unable to offer a place at Idsall School, the home LEA will be informed so that consideration can be given to the other preferences.

Mid-term-in-year transfers

When families move into the area after the Year 6 transfer stage and require a place for their child, they should apply to Idsall School direct by completing a Mid-Term-in-Year Transfer form and sending this to the school by post or email.
