Library
|
Our modern, purpose built library is a special feature of the school and a focus for many learning activities both during and after school.
We are told that is is one of the best stocked libraries in the county and the ICT facilities provide access to a huge range of learning materials via the school computer network.
The library is supervised throughout the day and is open after school for Session Six Studyzone from Monday to Thursday. This gives students the opportunity to do some independent study for homework and is a good time for some quiet reading.

How to use the Library |
The Library has got a new database called Eclipse. It‘s fantastic! When students log on to any computer in the school, they can see the Top Ten most borrowed books, what‘s been returned recently, new additions to the library, and reviews by other pu-pils. Eclipse has facilities such as Book of the Week, weekly news items, My Stuff which gives pupils their own space to say which books/DVDs/CDs/websites they love, it even shows that tutor group 7AW are the best readers in the school!
Very soon we hope to have the facility for students to log into Eclipse from home so watch this space.
